Tasting - Bay Bridge Vineyards White Zinfandel Today... we will be exploring the depths of wine in tasting this White Zinfandel from Bay Bridge Vineyards. This wine is from the Bay Bridge winery located in California, USA. The grape variety is a Zinfandel grape and is of the style of a Californian Rose and only cost $3.59. According to tastings.com this Zinfandel has a crisp and lively, fruity, juicy and smooth and non-oaky style. Smells and tastes of watermelon candies, apple lollipop, and cherry taffy. This wine is a dryish wine best enjoyed now on its own or with food! And I couldn't agree more, this wine had a floral and sweet smell, almost of vanilla to me. Tasted of cherry, red apple, strawberry and peach. To me this wine was sweet to medium-sweet in taste. According to wine folly on page 94 a white Zinfandel (which is a rose) is supposed to have notes of strawberry, rose petal and orange peel. Overall, I would rate this wine well, did not eat anything with t...

Tasting - Relax Riesling Image credits: My girlfriend Today... we will be exploring the depths of wine in tasting this 2021 Relax Riesling. This wine is made from the Riesling grape, originally from the vineyards of Schmitt Sohne in the Mosel wine region in Germany and cost $10.99.   According to winepros.org, this Riesling is of excellent value. From the price point to the ripeness and crispy personality, this wine has delicate floral fragrances to jammy fruit flavors and I couldn't agree more. From initial smell I detected hints of green apple, pie, flowers and raspberry. Upon first sip I noted it was a sweeter Riesling, with a green apple taste in the beginning, a wildflower bitterness to the middle and a raspberry sweet and tartness near the end. According to Wine Folly page 88, these flavors of sweet and tartness go along with traditional Riesling, especially the green apple taste. Overall great wine, would recommend eating with an Asian dish, ours w...

Tasting - Field & Farm Red Blend   Today... we will be exploring the depths of wine in tasting this Field & Farm Red Blend from California. This  California Red Blend is a blend of Zinfandel, Merlot and Cabernet. This red blend has vanilla aromas that  have a spicy oak flavor. This wine cost about $4.95 for a split. My personal review of this wine would be, bad. Personally not a dry wine personal and this felt about bone dry. The tannins in this wine was no much I felt like I needed water after drinking it. The color of this wine was a deep red color with hints of brown. The smell was of raspberry, metal, stone and lemon citrus. Tasted of sweat, gooseberry, pee and peppers. Honestly, just gross, 4.4/10

Tasting - 2020 Sauvignon Blanc      Today... we will be exploring the depths of wine in tasting this vintage Sauvignon Blanc. This bottle was a JP. Chenet Sauvignon Blanc wine. Grape variety is a Sauvignon Blanc, origin is from Vin de France, Gascogne, vintage year 2020, and the price for a split was $3.45. Shop review of wine says that the aromas were of citrus fruit, lemon and grapefruit. The color was golden with greenish hints. My review of the wine was that it had a slight gold/ light pale chartreuse color, probably from the vintage, acquiring darker hues with age. The smell was of pear, metal, crushed rocks, fig, the skin of a green apple and pork blood. It tasted of cat pee, sourdough, brazil nuts, metal, floral, pear and grapefruit. This was was a semi-dry wine. Overall, pretty good! 7.4/10...
